The World Health Organization (WHO) has warned that those who work more than 55 hours a week are at risk of death. Such shocking results were obtained in a recent study conducted by this organization. Researchers have found that working overtime kills thousands of people a year. They also warned of a greater risk in the future as the workload increased during the Corona period.
According to the study, 7 lakh 45 thousand people died of stroke and heart attack in 2016 alone due to heavy workload. This is 30 percent more than in 2000. The study, conducted jointly by the World Health Organization and the International Labor Organization, found a number of startling findings. It has been reported that 72 per cent of the victims are men and that the highest number are middle aged (30-45).
It is shocking that those who work 55 hours or more a week are 35 percent more likely to have a stroke and 17 percent more likely to have heart disease. It has been reported that those who work 35 to 40 hours a week are less likely to be affected. The study was conducted with a focus on the years 2000-2016 and suggests that the risk may be increased by the corona period.
