The Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) is getting bigger Everyday. Especially since the concept of multiverse has come in the MCU, since then its film is taking more grand form. The best example of this is the recently released film ‘Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness’. Although this MCU film did not get much love from the audience in India but ‘Doctor Strange 2’ was full of twists and turns. The most shocking twist among these twists and turns comes at the end of the film, which leaves everyone stunned. At the end of the film, directed by Sam Raimi, Doctor Stephen Strange (Benedict Cumberbatch) opens his third eye. This scene of the film garnered a lot of accolades and accolades as well as it has added a new mysterious character to the MCU. Well-known Hollywood actress Charlize Theron herself has revealed this through her social media post.
On the entry of Charlize Theron in the film, a hint was left in the hearts and minds of the people that a new character is going to come to the MCU. But with so much presence it’s not easy to understand which character Charlize is playing in the MCU. Seeing Theron’s purple and black costume, fans were speculating that she was Klee, a mysterious woman who had entered the world of Marvel Comics since 1964. Since then she has been playing an important role in Doctor Strange comics. Klee is a powerful sorceress who appears human, but is actually a member of the Faltine race. The people of the Faltine race are born of magic and have a lot of power. Klee is also the Queen of the Dark Dimension, whose powers include telekinesis, mind-control, teleporting, super-strength, and transmutation. Along with this, she is also the niece of Dormammu, with whom Stephen had clashed in the 2016 film ‘Doctor Strange’.
Six days after the release of “Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness,” Theron has proved people’s guesses right. The Oscar-winning Hollywood actress posted her first look as Klee on her official Instagram handle, her character was introduced in the mid-credits scene of Marvel Studios’ recently released film. Sharing his post, he wrote in the caption, “Meet Klee.”
Christine Palmer was featured as Dr Strange’s first love in the 2016 film. But this time at the beginning of ‘Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness’ Christine is shown marrying her friend Charlie. Dr. Strange is shown in pain due to this incident in the recently released film, but it is clear from Klee’s entry that love is about to start again in Dr. Strange’s life. We’ve already got hints of this from the Doctor Strange comics. In these comics, Klee is one of Stephen Strange’s closest companions, who has been his colleague, disciple, wife. In the 2021 comic, Death of Doctor Strange, Volume 1, Klee becomes the keeper of Agamoto’s Third Eye after Strange lays down his life to save Earth. Doctor Strange tells her at his last moment that he only trusts her to leave such a powerful force. This part of the comic gives us a clear indication of how powerful Klee is going to be.
At this point in time we can’t say for sure whether Theron will play Klee in the MCU movies as in the comics. But Klee’s entry does suggest that she and Cumberbatch will be the main attraction in the next “Doctor Strange” film.
