Director Vivek Agnihotri’s film The Kashmir Files had spread a wave across the country. Everyday The Kashmir Files Housefull was going on in theatres. For two weeks, the film has earned a lot at the box office. But there are many people who have not seen the film. Singer Sonu Nigam’s name also comes in this. The film which created many controversies, on which many people came out of the cinema hall in tears, kept avoiding watching it Sonu Nigam. Why so, the singer himself has told.
In a conversation with Times of India, Sonu Nigam said- ‘I cry from inside when I hear those stories. It is not just about Kashmir. I am sensitive to all such crimes. I can’t dare to watch this film. Sonu also said that his sensitivity is not only to Kashmiri Pandits but to every community that has gone through such a rebel act.
Sonu gave his reaction on the film to Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal’s The Kashmir Files being a fake film and put a comment on YouTube. Sonu said that Kejriwal’s comment is a disrespect to all the Pandit families.
Kejriwal’s comment on The Kashmir Files created a lot of ruckus. Before Sonu Nigam, Anupam Kher had called the CM’s comment shameful. He had tweeted- ‘Now friends go and watch #TheKashmirFiles in the cinema hall itself. You guys have known the grief of #KashmiriHindus after 32 years. Understand the atrocities done to them. Showed sympathy with them. But those who are making fun of this tragedy. Please make them feel your power. #Shame.’
